What a shame it is that ... it has taken a major recession to temper the irresponsible behavior we, as a society, and we, as individuals, have been engaging in. The Republican's have gutted our governments while freeing the businesses to steal billions. The rich have grown so much richer due to corporate greed and low taxes on the richest Americans. Now we are all sufferring. As individuals we have run up our credit card debt, mortgage debt, student loan debt, and margin debt. And now it is weighing very heavily on us, individually and collectively.
And what is happening? We are relearning some lessons our parents were supposed to have taught us, buy may have forgotten. Be frugal. Be nice to your neighbors. Take some chances. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Go to school and study hard. Take care of your fellow man. If we all succeed then no one loses. Family and community matter. Who we elect as President matters. So does who we elect to congress and state and local office.
